Shop Lenovo accessories
Lenovo uses several charger styles. The fastest way to identify yours is by connector shape and wattage. Matching the correct type prevents slow charging and “plugged in, not charging” problems.
Common Lenovo charger connector types
- USB-C (Power Delivery): oval USB-C port, common on ThinkPad/IdeaPad/Yoga/ThinkBook.
- Slim Tip: flat rectangular “yellow tip” style on many older/current models.
- Round barrel: older designs, common on some legacy models.
Check wattage on the label
Look for output like 45W / 65W / 90W / 135W / 170W+. Gaming/workstation models usually need higher wattage.
Match the charger to your use
- Too low wattage can cause slow charging or no charging under load.
- USB-C chargers should support sufficient PD wattage for your device.
If you’re also troubleshooting battery life
A weak battery and an underpowered charger can look similar. If your runtime is poor, check your battery health too.
