Lenovo “plugged in, not charging” is often caused by settings (Vantage charging threshold) or power delivery (USB-C charger wattage). A worn battery is possible—but confirm first.
Step 1: Check Lenovo Vantage charging threshold
- If conservation mode is on, charging may pause at a set percentage.
- This is normal and can look like a charging fault.
Step 2: Confirm charger wattage and port
- For USB-C models, use a charger with sufficient wattage for your laptop.
- Under heavy load (gaming/compiling/video), a weak charger may not increase battery %.
- Try another known-good charger/port if available.
Step 3: Check battery health
powercfg /batteryreport
If Full Charge Capacity is much lower than Design Capacity and you also see sudden drops/shutdowns, replacement is usually justified.
What to buy if needed
- Battery: match FRU/Part Number, V/Wh, connector.
- Charger: match connector type (USB-C / Slim Tip / round) and wattage.
