My Lenovo only charges to 80% — do I need a new battery?

If your Lenovo stops charging around 80%, you may not need a new battery at all. Many Lenovo models use Lenovo Vantage to enable a charging threshold (conservation mode) to reduce wear.

How to tell if it’s a worn battery instead

• Runtime is very short even when fully “charged” to the limit.
• Percentage jumps or sudden shutdowns under load.
• Battery Report shows a big drop in Full Charge Capacity.
