    or Dell 450-xxxx codes.
  • Sometimes a family name like “PA-12”, “PA-3E”, “PA-4E” on older chargers.

  Your new charger should have the same voltage and an equal or higher wattage than the original adapter.

• 2. Check the connector (plug) type.
  Dell commonly uses barrel plugs with an identification pin inside:
  • 7.4 × 5.0 mm with center pin – used on many older Inspiron / Latitude / Precision / Alienware models.
  • 4.5 × 3.0 mm with center pin (blue tip) – used on many modern Inspiron / Vostro / Latitude / XPS / G Series laptops.
  • USB-C PD (Power Delivery) – used on some newer XPS, Latitude, Precision and G Series models that charge via USB-C.

  The connector of the new charger must fit your laptop’s DC jack, and the center pin is important for proper Dell recognition and full performance.

• 3. Check the sticker on the bottom of your Dell laptop.
  Turn the laptop upside down and look for:
  • The Dell model name, for example:
    Inspiron 15 3511, Inspiron 15 5570,
    Latitude 5400, Latitude 5520,
    XPS 13 9310, XPS 15 7590,
    G3 15 3590, G15 5520,
    Precision 5530, Alienware m15.
  • The Dell Service Tag (a unique 7-character code). If you share this with us, we can help double-check charger compatibility.

  Some stickers also show the required DC rating e.g. “19.5V …A”.

• 4. Worldwide input voltage and power cord.
