• 1. Turn off your MSI laptop and unplug the charger. Make sure the machine is completely powered off and cool before you check any labels.
• 2. Check the model name on the bottom sticker or system info. You will see the full MSI model such as:

  The BTY-… code together with the voltage and capacity is the most accurate reference.

• 5. Check the voltage and capacity. On the battery label you will also see voltage (V) and capacity (Wh / mAh), for example “11.4V 51Wh”, “15.2V 82Wh” or “15.4V 94Wh”. Your new battery should match the voltage and have a similar or higher capacity, especially for gaming models.
